Event Date:
Friday, January 12, 2018, 12:00pm to 1:00pm PST

This seminar presents the research conducted by the authors to gain insight into the behavioral influencers of freight mode choice. As part of this effort, the authors conducted numerous in-depth interviews with a highly selective group of leading shippers, carriers, and receivers. The seminar provides a brief description of the firms interviewed, the approach taken to carry out the interviews and discusses the chief results. The interviews provide insight into the key factors that influence mode choice, and barriers that limit modal choices. The insight gained from the interviews is used to identify potential initiatives to address the identified barriers.
