The NITC program supports student transportation groups at our university partner campuses. These groups offer student development by hosting guest speakers, taking field trips, attending conferences and participating in social and professional events.

Portland State University

Students in Transportation Engineering and Planning (STEP), Portland State University's ITE student chapter, engages its members in relevant transportation issues and activities to further professional and academic development. The chapter facilitates relationships between transportation students from different disciplines, both within PSU and with other universities, with a view toward building a shared understanding that would be helpful to students both in their academic studies and in practice.

The University of Oregon transportation and livability student group, LiveMove, brings together undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines to focus on the planning and design of transportation systems as they relate to community quality of life and livability. Within the group, there are opportunities to collaborate on planning and design projects, to gain leadership skills, to bring in high-profile guest speakers, and to network.

Point B: Transportation Student Group is a student organization for an interdiscplinary range of University of Utah students interested in transportation and mobility issues. The goals of Point B are to unite students interested in a diverse range of transportation-related issues from departments and colleges across the University of Utah campus; to promote student-based research and education in transportation; and to support University of Utah students through scholarships, conferences, and mentoring. We also facilitate community involvement and outreach, provide access to the transportation professional community; and connect students with transportation-related internships and jobs.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Student Chapter at Oregon Tech works with other Oregon Tech student groups to put engineering students in contact with practicing engineers and real world projects. Over the years, the Chapter has arranged very successful trips to the ITE NW Traffic Bowl, the USDOT Region X Transportation Student Conference, and tours of the single point urban interchange (SPUI) in South Medford, the Eugene I-5 "flyover", the Willamette River Bridge, and the Antlers Bridge.

The organization provide students the opportunity to apply and learn important civil engineering concepts through design projects, community involvement, and opportunities to network with professionals.

Institute of Transportation Engineers Student Chapter

The University of Texas at Arlington ITE student chapter was formed in 1991. It is one among the six student chapters which come under District 9 (Texas) of the national ITE. Student members attend state and national meetings, where they get an opportunity to meet nationally known transportation professional and participate in poster and paper presentations.
