Shared mobility—including bikeshare, scooters, and ride-hail—offer a critical opportunity for transportation professionals. This project will develop five distinct curriculum resources to engage students in key equity considerations and questions that shared mobility presents to transportation professionals: 1) suggested reading list; 2) lecture slides + recorded video lecture; 3) in-class student activity; 4) discussion questions; and 5) teaching guides. Curriculum resources will engage students with the existing structural, technological, other barriers to shared mobility systems, discussed across two potential levels of exclusion: the neighborhood and the individual. Student discussions and an in-class activity will challenge students to grapple with how data and metrics can advance equity in shared mobility and how transportation professionals can design, invest in, and program shared mobility services to ensure equitable access, particularly among communities historically marginalized by transportation systems.
