Kristina Currans is an Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She received her doctoral and master's degrees from Portland State University and her bachelor's degree from Oregon State University--all in civil engineering. Her research focuses on the intersection between land use development and travel behavior in the fields of urban planning and transportation engineering. She is most interested in studying the ways in which theory and research have been and can be incorporated into practical applications to improve the ways agencies understand, evaluate and provide travel opportunities for their communities.
