Juan Medina

Juan Medina

Research Associate Professor

Civil and Environmental Engineering

University of Utah

Dr. Juan Medina is a research associate professor in civil and environmental engineering at the University of Utah. Prior to joining the U of U, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he obtained a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in civil engineering. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogota, Colombia. His research interests include transportation safety, traffic control systems, ITS, and agent-based control. He has over 10 years of experience in transportation operations, and he is an active participant at TRB, IEEE, and ASCE conferences.
