The purpose of this project was to evaluate the effects of new bicycle boulevards in Portland, OR on physical activity for recreation and transportation for families with children. The purpose of this project was to evaluate the effects of new bicycle boulevards in Portland, OR on physical activity for recreation and transportation for families with children. Data was collected pre- and post-boulevards, roughly one year apart. Objective physical activity data was collected using GPS and accelerometry. The physical environment was measured using tested audit instruments. Participant surveys were used to collect perceptions of the environment and attitudes towards physical activity.
